Paul encourages the Thessalonians and us to pray for ourselves and our church –
- that we might be a people committed to thoughtful prayer.
- that we may have a global not just a parochial vision of reaching others with the gospel.
- that our attitudes to reading and studying the Bible might produce in us right understanding, willing obedience and faithful, productive service.
- and that we might truly know and express the peace which God’s grace alone can bring through Jesus.
