How Long O Lord

How Long O Lord

Too often, we see great injustice and evil in the world –  even, tragically, within the people of God. Why does God put up with it? Why doesn’t he do something?  Around 600BC, these questions were on the mind of the prophet Habakkuk.  But he didn’t keep them to himself: he demanded answers from God, in pretty direct language.  Habakkuk’s bold approach encourages us to be honest and direct in our prayers.  God’s shocking response shows us that the problem goes deeper than we often realise. And in Jesus, we see how God can get rid of evil without getting rid of us.
