The Lord is My Light and My Salvation

I am still confident of this: I will see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.

The overall theme of Psalm 27 centres upon the confidence David has in the Lord.

Despite remarkable, life-threatening persecution from the hands of his powerful enemies, David calls upon the Lord… “my light, my salvation and my stronghold.”

Psalm 27 speaks to anyone who has ever been anxious about the future. While trouble and hardship will come our way, speaking from experience, David encourages us to take confidence in the Lord’s faithfulness:

Wait for the LORD ; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD .
