Psalm 92 reminds us that our future in Christ is secure: Though so many aspects of our world are in tumult, and though there are so many uncertainties concerning personal health, economic security, the future of relationships, world peace and the future of the planet, the psalmist reminds us that for the Christian there is a certain and glorious future.
Psalm 92’s structure works from the outside in to the centre:
Praise (V1-3, 12-15)
What the Lord has done (V4-5, 10-11)
Seeing and Not Seeing (V6-7, 9)
How great is our God! (v8)
The effect of this structure is to focus our attention on the middle verse of the psalm (v8):
But you, Lord, are forever exalted.
