What really gets to you? What kicks you in the guts and fills you with compassion, so that you might even open your wallet on the spot?
In Matthew 9:36 we see Jesus filled with compassion for the crowds around him. Without any decent leadership, they were like sheep without a shepherd.
But the first thing he tells his disciples to do about it might surprise you. And the mission he subsequently sends his disciples on might challenge you. Should we, like them, hit the road without any spare clothes, proclaim the kingdom, heal the sick, cast out demons and raise the dead? Or are we off the hook?
