Clinging to Jesus in the Muck of Life

Being Christians doesn’t insulate us from the challenges of life. In 2 Corinthians, Paul and Timothy write about how they have been through “ troubles, hardships and distresses; beatings, imprisonments … sleepless nights and hunger;” They describe themselves as “dying, and yet we live on; beaten, and yet not killed; 10 sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; poor, yet making many rich; having nothing, and yet possessing everything. Somehow there is a way to still have a sense of abundance, richness and joy even when our circumstances bring us genuine pain, distress and grief. That’s what we’re exploring in this series “Clinging to Jesus in the muck of life”. In our Small Groups we’ll be looking at the Book of Philippians to see Jesus shine through the hardships of life.
