Genesis 25-35: The family of Isaac and the Promise of God

If the story of your family is complex and messy, you’d be inclined to keep it covered up. But in the Bible, the early history of the people of God is displayed in all its murkiness and chaos.

Having examined the life of Abraham in 2018, in term 1 2020 we’re exploring the story of Abraham’s key offspring Isaac and Jacob. We’ll see the births of the 12 tribes of Israel – and the conflict and pettiness that surrounded them.  We’ll be reminded that when God pours out his blessings, it’s invariably on  compromised and imperfect people – which is good news for all of us.
