If God is for us, who can be against us?
In chapters 5-8, Paul outlines reason after reason to hold firm to a confident assurance in Christ. In this closing statement Paul responds to all these things. God is for us. He has assured our victory in Christ over sin and death, guaranteeing salvation for those whose faith is in Jesus. He has done everything for us in advance because of his immeasurable love for us. As a final encouragement, Paul reminds us that nothing in all creation can separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
