This is not a “G” rated section of the Bible, for in Jesus’ preaching of six Parables about what the the Kingdom of Heaven” is like (Matthew 13:24-52), He twice provides graphic descriptions of the alternative – the place the Bible calls “hell“.
The Son of Man will send out his angels, and they will weed out of his kingdom everything that causes sin and all who do evil. They will throw them into the blazing furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. (Mt 13:41-42)
In stark contrast Jesus also describes the wonder of the kingdom of heaven and how incalculably valuable it is. And therefore why we would want to be part of it.
