On the 23rd July, the women of All Saints and their friends enjoyed our first ever “Christmas in July” dinner. Wow, what an amazing success! Here are some memories and photos from what what such a great night.
Fire Pits and Singing!
We began the evening outside drinking mulled wine around the blazing fire pits, then headed inside to begin the evenings activities. The church hall was beautifully decorated, and really helped to set the christmassy mood. There was craft, trivia, and even a “Spicks and Specks” style christmas carol singing competition! One hundred and twelve women attended in total, and thanks to our wonderful team of male helpers, were all served a beautiful roast Christmas dinner (complete with pork crackling of course!). The men worked tirelessly all evening and helped make this a night to remember!
Wendy Potts
The highlight of the night was the thought provoking talk given to us by our speaker Wendy Potts. She explained more of the historical context of the well known “christmas story”. She then encouraged us all to take a fresh look at the person of Jesus, whose ‘fame’ even today is undeniable.
The night finished after an incredibly indulgent dessert platter (people are still talking about the choc-orange truffles covered in gold dust!).
Thanks to the womens committee (and the male helpers), for pulling off such an amazing event!!
