Last week as we began our quick tour of Romans 8, we encountered great news: release from condemnation, freedom from sin and death, transformation and assurance through the Holy Spirit. But having heard that news, it doesn’t take long for it to clash with your experience of life. Human suffering goes on, for Christian believers just like everyone else. Paul admitted in verse 17 that we will need to suffer with Jesus before we are glorified with him.
So the Christian life is a life of hope, a life of waiting both eagerly and patiently for the day when God completes his saving work.
This talk explores three pieces of encouragement that Romans 8:18-30 gives us to help us hold onto our hope and continue waiting eagerly and patiently.
